Choosing headliner for a Suzuki without guessing
Interior parts are where Suzuki's sibling models diverge most. The XL6 and the Ertiga share the mechanical package but not the seating; the Eeco is sold in panel and passenger form with different rear layouts; and entry derivatives across the range go without the mounting provision that higher specs assume is there.
In plain terms, the call you have to make is whether the replacement has to be an exact trim match, or whether a near-equivalent lifted from a different spec of the same car will do the job β and the model name on the boot lid is not enough information to make it.
Include the derivative, the trim colour, and confirmation that the car left the factory with the feature you are replacing when you ask us about headliner. Two questions up front beats a part that has to be couriered back.
Headliner, explained
The headliner is the moulded board that lines the roof, faced with a thin cloth bonded to a layer of foam. Heat is what kills it. Years of Highveld sun cook the foam to powder and the fabric lets go, usually starting at the rear edge above the back seat.

Headliner for Suzuki: common questions
What decides which headliner fits my Suzuki?
Interior parts are where Suzuki's sibling models diverge most. The XL6 and the Ertiga share the mechanical package but not the seating; the Eeco is sold in panel and passenger form with different rear layouts; and entry derivatives across the range go without the mounting provision that higher specs assume is there. In practice the decision in front of you is whether the replacement has to be an exact trim match, or whether a near-equivalent lifted from a different spec of the same car will do the job.
What do you need from me to quote headliner?
The derivative, the trim colour, and confirmation that the car left the factory with the feature you are replacing. With that we can usually confirm the right part quickly, and we'll tell you whether we're quoting new, aftermarket or good used rather than leaving you to guess.
Is it better to re-trim my headliner or fit a used one?
A used board is worth it when the original board is broken, warped or water damaged, because the board itself is what holds the shape. If the board is sound and only the cloth has let go, a trimmer re-covering it usually lasts longer, since a donor board of the same age has foam in the same condition as yours.
Will a headliner from another Suzuki fit?
No. The board is cut to that specific roof, with holes for the pillars, the lamps, the grab handles and the aerial, and a sunroof car has a completely different board to a solid-roof one. Tell us the derivative and the year and we will confirm what matches before anything moves.
Can a headliner be sent by courier?
It is an awkward item to move. The board is one large piece and it creases permanently if it is bent, so it travels flat or not at all. Most people collect it or arrange transport that can take it lying down.
What colour will I get?
Interior colour follows the trim level and the year, and headliners fade differently depending on how much sun the car stood in. Ask for photographs of the actual board in daylight rather than relying on a colour name.
What causes the water stains?
Nearly always a leak above it: blocked sunroof drains, a perished seal around the aerial base, or a windscreen bonded badly after a chip repair. Fix the leak first, otherwise the replacement board stains in the same place within a season.

Tell us the car and we'll go looking
The derivative, the trim colour, and confirmation that the car left the factory with the feature you are replacing is all we need. We cross-reference it against what we can source and come back with what fits.
