Why two identical-looking Suzukis take different left door panel
Strip away the catalogue language and what you are actually choosing between here is whether the replacement has to be an exact trim match, or whether a near-equivalent lifted from a different spec of the same car will do the job.
Interior parts are where Suzuki's sibling models diverge most. The XL6 and the Ertiga share the mechanical package but not the seating; the Eeco is sold in panel and passenger form with different rear layouts; and entry derivatives across the range go without the mounting provision that higher specs assume is there.
So we price left door panel against your specific car, not against a badge. Send through the derivative, the trim colour, and confirmation that the car left the factory with the feature you are replacing, and we will come back to you on what fits , what it will cost, and how soon we can have it moving.
Left Door Panel, explained
The door panel, or trim card, is the moulded board on the inside face of the door. It carries the pull handle, the armrest, the window switch and usually the speaker, and behind it sits a plastic vapour barrier that keeps rain out of the cabin. Panels come off for window regulator and lock work, and the plastic retaining clips take a beating every time. On a right-hand-drive car, the left front panel is the passenger side.

Suzuki Left Door Panel β questions we get asked
What decides which left door panel fits my Suzuki?
Interior parts are where Suzuki's sibling models diverge most. The XL6 and the Ertiga share the mechanical package but not the seating; the Eeco is sold in panel and passenger form with different rear layouts; and entry derivatives across the range go without the mounting provision that higher specs assume is there. In practice the decision in front of you is whether the replacement has to be an exact trim match, or whether a near-equivalent lifted from a different spec of the same car will do the job.
What do you need from me to quote left door panel?
The derivative, the trim colour, and confirmation that the car left the factory with the feature you are replacing. With that we can usually confirm the right part quickly, and we'll tell you whether we're quoting new, aftermarket or good used rather than leaving you to guess.
Is the left panel different from the right?
They are mirror images, so one will never fit the other side, and the cut-outs differ as well. On a right-hand-drive car the driver door carries the master switch pack for all the windows while the passenger door has a single switch, so the panels are not even close to interchangeable. Ordering the wrong side is the most common mistake on this part.
What about a panel out of a left-hand-drive import?
Be careful there. On a left-hand-drive car the left front door is the driver door, so its panel is cut for the master switch pack and the mirror control, not the single switch a South African passenger door uses. It may bolt up and still look wrong and work worse.
Can broken clips be bought on their own?
They can, and a clip kit is a cheap way to get a panel sitting flat again. The limit is the board itself. Once the plastic has torn out around a clip hole, a new clip has nothing to grip and that section needs to be repaired or backed before it will hold.
Will the colour and the trim match my other doors?
Interior colours track the trim level and the model year, and cloth inserts fade at different rates depending on which side of the car took the sun. Ask for daylight photographs of the actual panel rather than going on a description.
Does the panel come with the switch, speaker and handle?
It depends on how the donor car was stripped, and there is no single answer. Some come complete, some as a bare board. Send your details through the quote form and we will confirm exactly what is attached to the panel before you commit.
