Why two identical-looking Suzukis take different right mirror
Strip away the catalogue language and what you are actually choosing between here is whether a straight second-hand panel beats a new aftermarket one once prep, paint and fitting are added to both quotes rather than just the part price.
Suzuki has reused names across unrelated vehicles here more than most marques — the Grand Vitara covers a ladder-frame SUV and a modern crossover, the Brezza was sold under two names, and the Swift spans four generations. Body panels are where that bites hardest, because the badge is identical and the metal is not. We source against the generation code, never the name.
So we price right mirror against your specific car, not against a badge. Send through the year, the derivative and the paint code off the VIN plate, plus a photograph of the damage, and we will come back to you on what fits , what it will cost, and how soon we can have it moving.
Right Mirror, explained
On a right-hand-drive Suzuki the right mirror is the driver's side one, and parked at a kerb it hangs out into the traffic lane — which is exactly why it is the mirror that gets clipped. Before ordering, decide whether you need only the glass, only the cover, or the whole assembly.

Suzuki Right Mirror — questions we get asked
What decides which right mirror fits my Suzuki?
Suzuki has reused names across unrelated vehicles here more than most marques — the Grand Vitara covers a ladder-frame SUV and a modern crossover, the Brezza was sold under two names, and the Swift spans four generations. Body panels are where that bites hardest, because the badge is identical and the metal is not. We source against the generation code, never the name. In practice the decision in front of you is whether a straight second-hand panel beats a new aftermarket one once prep, paint and fitting are added to both quotes rather than just the part price.
What do you need from me to quote right mirror?
The year, the derivative and the paint code off the VIN plate, plus a photograph of the damage. With that we can usually confirm the right part quickly, and we'll tell you whether we're quoting new, aftermarket or good used rather than leaving you to guess.
Can I replace just the glass?
On most designs, yes. The glass sits on a backing plate that clips onto the adjuster motor, and it comes off and on without touching the rest of the mirror. That is by far the cheapest fix when the housing and the motor are still sound.
Why is the driver side mirror the one that gets broken?
Geometry. Park facing the direction of travel on a South African road and your right mirror is the one nearest the traffic, so passing vehicles, taxis pulling in tight and other people opening doors all find it. The left mirror mostly gets away with pavement scrapes.
Do power-folding, heating and indicators change the part?
They change everything about it. The number of pins in the connector, the wiring in the door and the shape of the housing all differ, and a mirror from a lower derivative will plug in wrong or not at all. Quote form with the VIN, and we will match the connector as well as the shape.
Is a broken mirror a roadworthy problem?
A driver who cannot see down the right-hand side of the car has lost their most important mirror, and a testing station will take a view on a mirror that is missing, shattered or will not hold its aim. Fix it before you book the test.
Can a folded-back mirror be pushed straight?
A manually folding mirror, yes — it is designed to swing on a detent and it will click back. A power-folding one should never be forced by hand, because you strip the drive gears inside doing it. Fold it back with the switch, and if the motor no longer drives it, the fold mechanism is the part that needs attention.
